🎧 Hypno-sedative music used in clinical settings

Hypnusic.com is a publisher of clinical music, specializing in hypno-sedative compositions using the Slash technique. These therapeutic works have been used for over 10 years at the University Hospital of Liège (Algology Department) and were the subject of a comparative study published in PLOS ONE (2021). The music is recognized for its effects on mood regulation, emotional well-being, anxiety reduction, and pain management.

While several musical hypnosedation techniques exist worldwide, this approach was developed in collaboration with Professor Marie-Elisabeth Faymonville, Professor of Anesthesiology and world pioneer in medical hypnosis—whose work inspired the extended musical suites—along with her team: Professor Audrey Vanhaudenhuyse (Psychology) and Nicole Malaise, hypnotherapist and psychologist.

Today, 7 musical suites are commercially available for individuals, healthcare professionals, clinics, and hospitals.

About the Composer

Music therapist — a profession I have practiced with passion for nearly 40 years.

Pioneer of music therapy in Belgium, I was not initially destined for this path. An episode affecting my family in the late 1980s directed me towards this avant-garde therapeutic approach.

I resumed studies in various fields and became a music therapist. After years of practice, in the late 1990s, I was hired as a trainer in Belgium and France.

A few years later, I joined the teams of Professor Faymonville and Professor Vanhaudenhuyse and collaborated on several projects for the Interdisciplinary Center for Algology at the University Hospital of Liège and the Sensation & Perception Research Group, GIGA Consciousness at the University of Liège.

In the early 2010s, I created a music therapy training program through HEPL at Forma+. This two-year training program is now accredited by ARES.

Throughout my career, I developed a specific technique and composed music for musical hypnosedation, which is now used in several European countries.
